Major Project Idea

My project idea will either be photos from the school year using animoto or either filming people's thoughts and hopes for after-grad life. I'll interview seniors, I'd probably include photos of the school, I'd research graduation celebrations and what most teens do after they graduate. I'd use either animo to to make an animated slide show with music for graduation, or another app on my phone i have called "Splice". These two services would best fit my project, it's self-explanatory, they both offer animations with music. I'll probably record during the weeks to come and put them all together. I'll transfer soon.

Sports Preview 4/25

1.) The powerade on the coach symbolizes a win because in the 80's a player poured the drink on the Giants coach after win because he didn't like the way the coach treated him that week. The players misread this and kept the tradition of pouring the shower of gatorade on the coach after a win.

2.) The shutter speed is probably around 1/1000

3.) This is a key moment after a game, it symbolizes a win. Of course this was planned, as long as they win.

4.) Rule of thirds?

Favorite Cover

Online DescriptionStephen Colbert was wonderful but the baby had all sorts of diva-like demands—a full trailer with a plasma screen tuned to "Teletubbies," a Dior Homme diaper, and at least one of Pamela Anderson's breasts. It wasn't easy, but it's what we had to work with. Colbert was photographed by Mark Seliger - See more at: http://www.magazine.org/asme/magazine-cover-contests/2007-winners-finalists#sthash.32t3SwD9.dpuf

My Critique: Stephen Colbert, one of my favorite late night television hosts, poses here with an infant version of himself, which would give us readers a chuckle and make us wonder why he's holding that! The cover line says "Stephen Colbert for President" which makes me think all sorts of things that maybe Colbert has done or is starting to do. The lighting quality is great, doesn't distract me from the subjects of the photo. The smaller cover lines are red, white, and blue, inspiring the patriotism in Americans.

Magazines!

  1. Masthead- main picture that pulls you in
  2. Dateline- Month and year of publication with the price
  3. Main Image- the face is big enough to stand out
  4. Model Credit- gives the photographer and model credit for the photo
  5. Coverlines- smaller titles that don't distract from the main points
  6. Main Coverlines- Biggest cover line on the page, main attraction for the cover photo besides the masthead
  7. Left Third- portion of the cover that doesn't distract from the masthead
  8. Barcode- Standard bar code
  9. Selling Line- describes what they're really trying to sell
